Burt's Bees Response

Burt's Bees manufactures many wonderful products that are loved by many for their natural and effective ingredients. I have recently been searching for natural and affordable skin/lip care products, so I thought Burt's Bees would be a great option.

A search of their website didn't provide me with enough information about whether or not their products were gluten free. The FAQ section had a few sentences stating that one should contact Burt's Bees regarding questions about products containing gluten, so I did just that.

Below is my inquiry:

Could you please provide me with a list of all of your products that are gluten free? Unfortunately, your form only allowed me to choose one product, but I would like a comprehensive list of all gluten-free products and also need to know if any gluten free products are manufactured on the same equipment as products containing gluten.
Thank you!
 This was their response:

Thank you for contacting Burt's Bees.

Please visit our website www.burtsbees.com where each product page contains in-depth information about that product, including an ingredients list.
We cannot provide a list of Burt's Bees products that are safe for use with your allergy because our products may have been manufactured on a shared line with products containing gluten, or raw materials used in our products may have been processed in a facility that also processes products containing gluten.
Therefore, we are unable to state that any Burt's Bees products are "gluten-free." Several of our products are known to contain certain allergens, because raw materials that contain or are made from the allergen are intentional ingredients in those products.
Please make sure that you carefully review the ingredient list of any product prior to use, particularly because the listed ingredients for a product may change. If you have a known allergy to gluten, you should always consult with your physician if you have questions regarding whether it is safe for you to use a particular product.

You can also check out our Ingredients Guide to learn more about some of our key ingredients, including the benefits they provide and where they are cultivated. Visit the Ingredients Glossary to see an explanation of each ingredient we use.
Thank you for your interest in our products.
So there you have it. If you can tolerate products manufactured on shared equipment, all you need to do is check the list of ingredients on products in which you are interested. Unfortunately for me, I can't take the risk of using products manufactured on shared equipment, so it looks like I will need to continue my search.

Hope this was helpful, and if you have any suggestions for natural, gluten-free skin care products, pleases comment below or send me an email!
